Dith Pran

Have you heard about Dith Pran?   This guy lived in Cambodia under the Kmer Rouge regime, a communist government which killed milions of people in working fields. Before this genocide, he worked as a translator for a American journalist called Sydney Schanberg, from The New York Times. After some years without contact, they finally met again and Dith went to United States, where he began to work as a photojournalist for The New York Times. I never saw his pictures.   This story inspired a film called The Killing Fields. Once I saw an interview with James Nachtway, where he said that it was one of his favorite movies…   There’s a good and short documentary about him:   http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/multimedia/20080320_DITH_PRAN_LAST_WORD_FEATURE/?th&emc=th     By the way, he died last Sunday, 30th of March…

Declare your love to photography!
